Mrs. Loiacano

Welcome to culinary arts!

This year you will be introduced to some basic kitchen skills.
We will chop, saute, bake, experiment, and of course, EAT!

A little bit about me:

I studied hospitality business at Michigan State University (Go Green!).  After graduating, I moved back to Chicago and worked as a catering event planner.  I planned everything from small family weddings to a luncheon for the Dalai Lama.  Next, I headed out west to become a certified pastry chef at Le Cordon Bleu Las Vegas.  Despite the snow, I returned to Chicago and became an assistant cake decorator at a cake shop.  Here I was able to work alongside Food Network challenge winners, create unique cakes and even be part of constructing a birthday cake for Oprah!  My next stop in the hospitality industry was as a restaurant general manager.  In this position I taught baking classes and welcomed field trips into my kitchen.  After realizing that this was the best part of the job, I headed off to get my masters in elementary education.

I am so excited to now have the opportunity to join the ZCMS staff and be apart of this amazing new program.  I can't wait to see you in class!
